There is a ton of information online about loss of libido. The cures range from medications to natural foods, from dealing with stress to getting regular exercise. These are all important, but an often overlooked factor is the accumulation of toxins in our body. This effects overall health and consequently, also lowers energy, libido, and our body’s ability to efficiently absorb the nutrition it needs even when consumed.
Eating the right food, eliminating the junk food and other toxic substances is a good step in restoring health and libido, but what about the damage that has already been done in the body? The liver is one of our
most important organs, as it filters and detoxifies our body. This also has a profound effect on hormone balance and good overall body chemistry.
Over a period of years, eating junk food can lead to a conjested liver, kind of like getting a clogged air filter in our car, or our vacuum cleaner. Once the liver (our body’s filter) becomes clogged and congested, it is less efficient in detoxing our body and this results in premature aging, lowered energy, imbalances in hormones, loss of libido, and more. Unlike the filters in our car or vacuum cleaner, we cannot just swap out our liver. Fortunately, there are ways to detox, flush, and cleanse the liver, which is perhaps one of the most important things a person can do to restore youth and libido.
One of the primary manifestations of a congested liver is gallstones. Gallbladder removal surgery is one of the most common surgeries performed, but does not really address the underlying problem. It is more of a quick fix, but the core issue is a congested liver, where the gallstones are forming to begin with. Doing a gallbladder and liver flush several times and eating healthier foods will not only restore youthful health and energy, it will also help avert other major diseases which ultimately originate with a congested liver.
Yes, eating foods that increase libido is important, but for many adults at middle age and beyond, a vital and oft times missing step is to clean our body’s detox filter, the liver. Once that is performed and our energy returns, eating the right libido enhancing foods will have an even greater impact. A person can retain their energy and vitality well into their senior years.

Are you fed up with intimacy problems? Are they ruining your relationship? There are many ways to improve sex life, but some of the most effective methods focus on improving your relationship. Tension and stress between you and your partner can lead to a significant drop in sexual interest. If you find yourselves bickering over every little disagreement or if you barely communicate at all, then you might as well be sleeping on the couch. Fixing and strengthening your relationship will allow you to rediscover the passion you used to feel towards each other.
If the problem is communication, then you need to work on being able to talk through any problems that arise. Don’t let conflicts remain unresolved or your relationship will be put under even more strain. Instead of keeping quiet about something that bothers you or flying into a rage over the slightest disagreement, agree to sit down and calmly discuss any issues you have, including bedroom issues. Reopening or redirecting lines of communication between your and your partner so that you can reach a compromise or find a solution together is one of the best ways to improve sex life.
If you need more professional assistance, then counseling can be a big help. Meeting with a therapist who specializes in relationship problems can give you an unbiased opinion on what is causing all the tension and how you can fix the problem. Instead of trying to solve it on your own, you’ll have the right guidance to improve sex life by improving your relationship. There are even therapists who focus exclusively on sexual issues in relationships so that you can get more direct treatment for this problem.
Are you spending enough time together? Most couples are so caught up in the daily chaos of life that they don’t set aside time to spend with each other. If you haven’t gone on a date in awhile or shared some quiet time at home together, then it’s important for you to start working this into your schedule. No matter how busy you both are, you need to find time to enjoy each other’s company and reconnect. To improve sex life and rekindle romance, make it a habit to set aside time as often as you can so that you can remember what drew you together in the first place.
Relationships can seem complicated enough when they’re working right, but when something is wrong, they can seem overwhelming. Don’t let yours suffer by failing to address any issues you’re having. Making sure your relationship is happy and healthy is the best way to improve sex life.
Did you know that something as simple as food can be one of the most effective ways to rebuild your relationship and passion? Why not enjoy the sex drive that these foods and supplements will provide you with to improve sex life so that you can start enjoying each other’s company tonight?

The libido is affected by several factors. While the main factor in men is primarily physical (not always), with women it can be a bit more complicated. We are all affected by the aging process, which alone can cause a drop in libido, but another key component is emotional. Depression can play a major role and has physical as well as psychological causes.
Some psychological causes for loss of libido can be stress, relationship problems, and overwork. These causal factors can be corrected and normal desire restored. Unfortunately, many of the drugs used to treat depression have also been known to decrease sexual desire from dysfunction side effects.
Some physical causes for loss of libido are aging factors such as no longer ovulating regularly or not at all, hormonal imbalances like low levels of estrogen (a mood elevator) and even testosterone. These are common symptoms of menopause.
One of the things that helps us feel good is the neurotransmitter Dopamine. Dopamine performs many functions. It affects the heart, circulation, metabolism, energy, brain activity, coordination, and releases endorphins which gives us feelings of pleasure.
Some food sources that contain building blocks for Dopamine are apples, beets, blue green algae, fish, sweet peppers, tofu, watermelon, chicken, celery, cucumber, honey, and green leafy vegatables. Some vitamins and minerals that provide support in this area is folic acid, niacin, iron, and B-6.
Of course, zinc and magnesium are always important for a good libido, as they help boost testosterone by suppressing globulin (a hormone that suppresses testosterone).
As mentioned earlier, estrogen is a mood enhancer. The list of foods that help balance estrogen levels is a long one. Here are a few: alfalfa, apples, barley, beets, carrots, cherries, cucumber, dairy, eggs, flax seed, garlic, licorice, olive oil, olives, parsely, peas, peppers, plums, potatoes, pumpkin, red beans, rhubarb, rice, sesame seeds, tomatoes, wheat, and yams.
Some foods diminish estrogen, such as corn, white rice, white flour, grapes, green beans, onions, figs, pears, squash, melons, cabbage, pineapples, berries, and more.
Whether the reasons for a lowered libido are emotional or physical, any reasonable strategy for healing is going to include lifestyle changes that allow for a lowered stress and eating healthy, natural foods.

Zinc is one of the most important and essential minerals our body needs. It performs many functions such as being used in the body to synthesize 100 enzymes, building our immune system, and helping to maintain our sense of smell and taste. It is also called the sex mineral because it is essential to our
libido, as well as producing and maintaining testosterone.
There are many natural food sources that zinc can be
derived from. Zince is associated with protein foods and can generally be found in things like chicken, lamb, pork, salmon, beef, turkey, lobster, crabmeat,
liver,and clams.
If you are a vegetarian, you can get zinc from foods like cereals, whole grains, brown rice, potatoes, beans, milk and cheese, and peanuts. Pumpkin seeds offer a higher concentration of zinc, but overall, the meats listed above offer four times more bioavailability when it comes to zinc absorption by the body.
Taking some vitamins such as E, C, and B6, plus the mineral magnesium can also help to increase zinc absorption by the body. The recommended daily allowance (RDA) for adults is around 11 milligrams for men and 8 milligrams for women. Taking more than 40 milligrams per day can cause health problems.
Zinc content in sperm and the prostrate gland is higher than in any other body tissue. A deficiency of zinc can cause problems in both of these areas.
In general, zinc in plant proteins are not as easily absorbed by the body as zinc in meat proteins. Due to dietary fibers and phytic acid, which bond to the zinc and create non-soluble compounds, only 15-40% of the zinc actually gets absorbed by the body.
Taking too much zinc can cause reduction of good cholesterol, lowered immune function, and can adversely affect iron and copper metabolism.
There are many foods, herbs, vitamins and minerals that enhance a person’s libido. Fortunately, these foods are a good source for many of the nutrients we need for good health. Zinc is only one of them, albeit, an important one, but eating healthy along with lowered stress and good exercise will have a synergistic effect that will positively impact every aspect of our lives, including the libido.

A low sex drive is often the result of self-esteem issues. If you’ve been struggling with a lack of self-confidence for a long time, then having a low libido will exacerbate the problem by making you feel even worse and more incompetent. If you think this is the case for you, then minimize the amount of alcohol you consume to see if your love life improves.
There are several other causes of low libido, but these are some of the most common reasons for it. If your situation doesn’t seem to fall into one of these categories, then there are a variety of other forms of treatment for you. There are many factors that affect a healthy libido. Mental, Physical, Nutrition, just to name a few. All of these work together and should be included as part of a healthy lifestyle. One very important aspect of a healthy libido is strong blood circulation. There are many foods and herbs that will help you in this area.
Omega 3 is made up of unsaturated fatty acids that cannot all be manufactured by the human body. These fatty acids are found in oily fish such as salmon and
aid the body’s circulatory system by increasing blood vessel elasticity. One word of warning though, larger doses can lead to increased bleeding by patients who are taking aspirin, reduced glycemic control among diabetics, and an increase in LDL cholesterol in some. There are other health issues, but only with much higher doses. Normal intake by eating fish should not present a problem.
More foods that positively affect circulatory and blood vessel health are cherries, rasberries, flavonoid-rich dark chocolate, blackcurrent berries (a species of Ribes berry native to central and northern Europe and northern Asia), Schizandra berries, Jujube date (which nourishes the blood) and green tea extract. All of these are jam packed with powerful antioxidants and enhance blood flow.
Some common herbs also help with supporting the circulatory system. They are ginger, garlic, ginkgo, and cayenne. These are great for seasoning other foods with, not just for flavor, but for better health as well.
This list of foods and herbs is by no means comprehensive. There are many more that help with circulation, and thus, with the libido. These sources of nutrition are also not limited to aiding blood flow and circulation. They have many more health benefits that indirectly support the libido. The great thing about eating naturally is, you don’t have to worry about side effects or overdosing. Combined with a low stress, physically active lifestyle, eating these foods and herbs will boost your sexual health quickly and naturally.

There are 3 main factors that affect the health of a person’s libido. They are Stress, Exercise, and Nutrition. A person’s sexual health is a reflection of their general health. Aside from exercise and activities to reduce stress, there are many common and not so common nutritional foods available to enhance the libido. Let’s take a look at a few of them.
In the most general sense, any nutrition that is good for overall health is also good for the libido. This means drinking plenty of water, getting enough vitamins and antioxidants, fiber, protein, complex carbs, and unsaturated fats from natural sources.
Some of the more specific foods that enhance the libido as well as contributing to overall health are Celery, Avocados, Raw Oysters, Figs, and Chocolate. Of course there are many more, but that is beyond the scope of this article.
Celery is a great source of many vitamins and minerals such as B6, vitamin A and C, dietary fiber, Pantothenic Acid, and Phosphorus (a very important mineral for the libido).
Avocados are low in cholesteral and sodium, high in fiber, and an abundance of vitamins, minerals, proteins, and amino acids. The potassium also helps to regulate a womans thyroid.
Raw Oyster is known to increase dopamine levels which increases testosterone and boosts sexuality. Oysters also contain zinc and phosphorus, both of which are two primary minerals that enhance libido. Many more vitamins and proteins are found in this food as well as dietary fiber.
Figs are high in amino acid and will not only increase libido but also help with stamina.
Chocolate, or more specifically, dark chocolate that is over 60% cocao. Chocolate is a good source of antioxidants and contains chemicals that help the libido and create a sense of euphoria. A couple of pieces a day should be enough.
Other not-so-common foods that are also known as super foods are Acai berries, Acerola Cherries, and Goji berries. Acai berries from Brazil are known for their anti-aging nutrients. They contain twice the anti-oxidants of blueberries, which are very potent as well.
Also from Brazil, Acerola Cherries have an abundance of vitamin C and around 150 super nutrients. Goji Berries from Asia has been used by the Chinese for centuries for its health benefits. Did you know that they contain 500 times more vitamin C than oranges? That is on a weight to weight comparison. This wonder food is like a whole food store in one product.
If you want to really improve your overall health and libido, you can do so with a simple visit to your grocery store or organic market (preferable). Fortunately, many foods that a person needs are very common and can be purchased locally. For the more uncommon foods, you can still find those on the internet and order them from their suppliers. A lifestyle which reduces stress, gets regular exercise, and eats the right foods will help a person restore the right balance to their lives and will naturally lead to a healthier libido.
